This is Braunbeck's autobiography of sorts....as told through personal reflections, book reviews, film reviews.
 
Wow, all I can say is NOW I understand why his books are so sad!  His life reads like one of his books, only without the supernatural stuff.  Very good and illuminating.
 
I'm now reading Keene's The New Fear, which is vol. III of his "the best of hail saten" blog collections.  Also nonfiction, but not as deep and philosophical as Braunbeck's book.  But, at the same time, it's a faster read and very entertaining.  I'd love to meet this guy
