Just trying to remember, Savage is the one set in the old west isn't it? If so I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good change of pace from his usual over the top style. And for me I found it a good read.

Some claim this is Laymon's best book. I disagree. Not even among his best I thought.
I thought the story started off really fast, and then slowed down considerably in the middle, which dragged on a little being that this was one of Laymon's larger books.
The book also left a few unanswered questions which I won't get into to avoid spoilers.
BUT...I will say that Laymon succeeded with the characters, and the plot WAS interesting enough to get through to the end.
A must for Laymon fans, but not for someone that wants to try Laymon for the first time.
