This one was definitely one for the Zoe fiends.  Technically, you don't have to read LOVES LIES DYING to enjoy this one, but it definitely helps.  For lack of a better word, it IS a sequel.
 
I don't believe it's one of Gerlach's stronger books (I liked Love Lies Dying and Rage a lot more), but for anyone into that fast paced, Laymon-esque style of writing, you'll like it.  
 
the book also includes a few short stories, as the title "novel" is more a novella length.  
 
the short stories are also good
