This one got a starred review in the new Fangoria, and it sounded intriguing so I figured I'd check it out.
Very inventive story. Very reminiscent of the Christopher Nolan film, Memento. Basically, if you put The Matrix, Memento, and Jaws into a blender, THE RAW SHARK TEXTS would be left.
I found it was a unique read, but everytime I read a book that tries pushing the boundaries like this one, (eg: blank pages/weird fonts/backwards writing/etc) I find that the book gets too caught up in it's absurdity and it detracts from the human element of the story. I had the same problem with HOUSE OF LEAVES. Very cool book, but not a great read.
