Bad.
I still don't know what to make of this "Bizarro" genre. I've read quite a few of Carlton Mellick's books, and have enjoyed all of them. However, other bizarro authors don't grab my attention as much. The "weirdness" in Mellick's books tend to serve the story, and give it a surreal atmosphere.
This book is about a man that falls in love with his house...as in...an intimate relationship.
The premise is ok, the book just didn't grab me. It has been praised in the bizarro community as one of the best books the genre has to offer, that is what convinced me to pick it up.
I've read Donihe's collaboration with Mellick: The Ocean of Lard. I've also read his story: The Greatest Fucking Moment in Sports.
I enjoyed both of those. Just didn't get into this one
